Introspection

What is life? Not just existence, nor a never-ending search for peace, nor a pathway to death. Then, what is it? It’s a rhetoric, left unanswered by many whom the hourglass has observed come and go by. It is for us to answer and to question...

I am left bamboozled by this one object of thought. And being an adolescent perhaps makes it even worse because so many drastic life-changes start happening to one in his age of adolescence. To me, its like a Rubik’s Cube, to be played with until all the colours fit into the right slots or as simple as tying one’s shoelaces. It’s an alphabetical mystery to a dyslexic and a sum of numbers to a mathematician, an irregularly drawn line or a perfect circle. Its that easy and difficult to understand. Its like playing with words that give the same meaning or like composing a symphony. Its complex, its cyptic, its beautiful…

It’s as glorious as the summer sun, as enigmatic as the midnight moon, as beautiful as Julia’s smile and as pure as Pocahontas’ heart. As wild as a lamb, as tame as a bull, as short as an hour and as long as a second. As magnificent as a Titanic and as unfortunate as a Poseidon, as easy as calculus and as difficult as memorizing tables. Its a speculation, an introspection, its philosophy…

Its as wonderful as falling in love, as haunting as a walk in a lonely planet, as revealing as the evening news and as appalling as a terrorist attack, as mesmerizing as a stark white unicorn and as dejected as a slain dragon. Its a story, waiting to unravel itself…

Its like a cup of instant coffee, a game of roulette, its a soak in a bathtub and its like the first rain. Its like the smell of freshly mown grass and like your mother’s chicken soup. Its like being tickled or being hit hard on the head. Its a recipe, awaiting its fate at the hands of a master chef…

Its bliss, joy, happiness. Its dark, deep, scary. Its love, thrill, excitement. Its archaic, swindling, depressing. Its art, its the movies and the latest trends. Its the tsunami, global warming and the politicians…

It’s the earth, the sky and the heavens yonder and its like being in a crowd or being left alone…

Its our footprints, our shadows and our reflections…
